Frequently asked questions.
Do you handle the utility line marking (locates) before you dig?
Absolutely. Before any work begins, I always call 811 (the national call-before-you-dig number) to have all underground public utilities marked on your property. This is a critical safety step that i handle entirely, ensuring a safe job site and preventing damage to gas, water, or electrical lines.
What is the process for getting a New Fence?
Initial Contact: You reach out with your project details (length, height, material).
On-Site Visit: I personally visit your property to measure accurately, assess the terrain, discuss the fence layout (step vs. roll), and answer all your questions.
The timeline depends on the length and terrain, but most residential projects take 2 to 5 days from start to finish
Who is responsible for knowing where the property line is?
While the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the fence is installed within your property boundaries rests with the homeowner, I take proactive steps to assist you. During my on-site consultation, we will review any markers, plats, or existing survey data you provide. We will communicate clearly about where the posts will be set before digging begins to ensure you are comfortable with the exact placement.
If I need a custom gate or special hardware, can you handle that?
Custom work is my specialty. Whether you need a unique double-swing driveway gate, a custom-sized single walk gate, or integration with special hardware like latches, locks or drop rods, I have the skills to build and install it to seamlessly match the rest of your new fence, or to design a separate style if you needed more visibility in your gate or easier access.
How much maintenance will my new Cedar fence require?
I recommend applying a high-quality stain or sealant within the first year during the dry season when the moisture content in the wood drops and reapplying every 3 to 5 years. This simple step protects the wood, prevents warping, and preserves the life of your investment.
